The overturning of Roe v Wade, that has opened the door for the criminalisation of abortion in the US, has stopped many in their tracks. The verdict is only the latest grim reminder that patriarchal capitalism deems women to be dangerous, and punishes them accordingly. The global policing of reproductive rights and bodily autonomy has gone hand in hand with the rise of bioessentialism and rampant transphobia, and speaks to the intrinsic, violent connection between imperialism, nationalism and gendered violence. This panel will discuss these interrelations, as well as exploring existing internationalist modalities of resistance
