Students face an increasing financial burden of sky-high rents, a working life full of debt, and the ballooning cost of living. Workers have endured a year-on-year real-terms wage cut, a sector wide scandal of casulisation and job insecurity, crushing workloads, and the stain of gender and race pay gaps.
This session will discuss how to build solidarity across the different experiences of crisis of higher education, linking the fights in the workplace to the degradation of students education. Another university is possible - but we need to smash the current monster to make it.
