As we saw in 2024 over Palestine, mass movements can create key openings for electoral breakthroughs. They’ll also be essential to sustaining any left government. But there are few examples in Britain of left parties and mass movements working effectively together.

In this panel, speakers from left parties from around the world will discuss how parties and movements can work together to achieve change.

Njuki is one of the founders of Ukombozi Library and a convenor of Kenya Left Alliance

Yari recently served as co-Chair of East Bay Democratic Socialists of America and led a campaign that successfully divested tens of millions of dollars from Israeli apartheid. Yari is also involved in Bay Area Labor for Palestine. Prior to this, Yari organised in Bernie Sanders's 2020 election campaign.

Joshua Virasami is Training and Organising Coordinator with London Renters Union. Local Groups, Campaigns and Supporter Engagement with Your Party. Author of How to Change it (Penguin) and A World without Racism (Pluto)

Andrew is the Director of NEON's Movement Building Hub, and was formerly political coordinator at Momentum and an advisor to Labour.
